SUMMARY READER RESPONSE DRAFT 4

Summary / Reader Response of the Yeedi Vac Station Draft 4

The webpage “Yeedi Vac Station review” from Tech Advisor (2021) reviews the technical specifications and functionalities of the Yeedi Vac Station. The Yeedi Vac Station includes a robot vacuum and a docking station. The robot vacuum offers 200 minutes of run time per charge, and it can cover up to 2000sqft (Yeedi, 2022A). According to Cowton (2021), the size of the robot is 350mm wide and 77mm high, meaning it is not a problem getting into difficult and tighter spots. The robot vacuum can empty its 450ml internal dustbin into the 2.5L dust bag inside the docking station every time it returns to the dock for a charge. The robot vacuum is efficient as it is equipped with a motorized floor brush and a three-pronged side brush. The robot is also ideal for light mopping as it is fitted with a microfiber wash pad clipped underneath a 240ml removeable water tank. The robot vacuum is also equipped with a motion-sensing camera used to identify and map out any rooms. The robot can be commanded to clean specific rooms or the whole house with the application.

The Yeedi Vac 2 Pro has a higher return on investment compared to that of its predecessor, the Yeedi Vac Station, because the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro includes 3D obstacle avoidance technology, an oscillating mopping system, and a carpet detection sensor, which the Yeedi Vac Station does not.

One such enhanced feature of the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro is the 3D obstacle avoidance technology. The Yeedi Vac 2 Pro is guided by the 3D obstacle avoidance technology and now has 10 times more precision in avoiding obstacles than the Yeedi Vac series (Yeedi, 2022B). According to Dee (2022), the 3D obstacle avoidance technology allows the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro to perform admirably in avoiding items such as shoes, large toys and even coiled wires. The Yeedi Vac 2 Pro will evade anything large enough within the line of sight of the sensor. The Yeedi Vac Station, in contrast, is only equipped with visual simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) navigation to help navigate and move around (Cowton, 2022). While the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro can avoid huge objects utilizing the 3D obstacle avoidance technology, the Yeedi Vac Station was unable to do so successfully because it would bump into the impediment and reroute itself.

Another feature that has been enhanced for the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro is the mopping system, as it has a new oscillating system compared to the Yeedi Vac Station’s mopping system. With the new oscillating mopping technology, the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro perfects the mopping function by taking inspiration from the manual mopping motion pattern. It rotates back and forth but five times more quickly compared to manual mopping to get equally amazing stain removal results (Yeedi, 2022B). According to Ansaldo (2022), the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro’s new oscillating mopping system scrubs the floor mimicking human using a stick mop, while most other vacuums like the Yeedi Vac Station just drag the attached microfiber cloth over the floor. The Yeedi Vac 2 Pro was tested in a cleaning test for its mopping performance. The Yeedi Vac 2 Pro was put through two tests, one for red wine and one for grape juice, and it did excellent on both (Dee, 2022). With this capability, the oscillating mopping system of the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro has been demonstrated to be better in mopping and cleaning than with the Yeedi Vac Station, which smears any liquid stains all over the floor.

Another feature that has been enhanced for the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro is the carpet detection sensor. The Yeedi Vac 2 Pro is equipped with a carpet detection sensor that intelligently identifies the carpet. To get the greatest clean, the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro will steer clear of the carpet when mopping and automatically boost suction when vacuuming (Yeedi, 2022B). According to Ansaldo (2022), the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro’s carpet detection sensor avoids the carpet totally while the Yeedi Vac Station will automatically boost suction and drag the dampened microfiber cloth over the carpet leaving it damp and musty. With this capability in carpet detection, the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro has proven better in preventing the carpet from being dampened compared to the Yeedi Vac Station, which might damage the carpet by cleaning it with its mopping system.

One problem with the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro is that the carpet detection sensor prevents the robot from cleaning the carpet if the oscillating mopping system is attached. This was evident when the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro was tested to get over a carpet with its mopping system attached (Ansaldo, 2022). This shows that even with the enhancement of the carpet detection sensor, the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro may only clean the carpet when the oscillating mopping system is detached. This restriction may eventually deter buyers if their house is heavily carpeted. Although there have been some limitations to the carpet detection sensor, the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro is still able to clean the carpet with oscillating mopping system removed, and this is a clear indicator of improvement in the carpet detection system.

In conclusion, the enhanced features of the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro will help it perform mopping tasks and avoid carpet that the Yeedi Vac Station could not achieve. With that assistance of the enhanced features, the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro would be a better value for money compared to its predecessor, the Yeedi Vac Station.
